These Pineapple Grenades were icon in the military of past days. While still in use, they are more common from movies in the WW II, Vietnam and Korean war era. These are authentic cast iron but inert (means they wont blow up on set).

We have a bunch of these in stock that can be attached to MOLLE vests or plate carriers. We also have plastic grenades that are less realistic but much lighter ad fine for extras in the background.

They are real, so they are heavy and wont look fake in the scene of if an actor throws one.

As for pyrotechnics, we try to use air cannons to avoid the cost of compliance with pyrotechnic movie permitting, on site medical etc. A blast of well placed air can create a similar explosion in dirt and water as TNT or gunpowder.

More commonly known as the Pineapple, the Mk II series (also written Mk 2) was the most common US fragmentation grenade of the Second World War. The Mk II had a grooved exterior originally intended to aid fragmentation of the grenade. However, later studies showed that this design has no effect on fragmentation, though it does provide a non-slip surface that improves grip. The filling was either EC blank fire powder (approx. 0.75 oz or 21 g smokeless small arms powder) or flaked TNT (approx. 2 oz or 57 g); TNT became the common filler from 1942 onwards.
