Mr Dog Poop Studios has invested heavily in props, particularly vintage props to support the main character in our Mr Dog Poop Unleashed series.

And until you start making videos, you don't realize how important props are to elevate your video to the next level.

As a content creator, I look for opportunities with the props available. What rooms do I have, what kind of interesting content can I create using what I already have.

I see loads of videos that are just a complete mess because of the poorly planned set.

Sure, they used their living room or bedroom and that is what they had to work with. But would it have killed you to move some of the trash out of the shot?

Maybe run a vacuum over the couch to get the cat hair off before filming. Or clean up the dirty dishes in the sink. Maybe that was too much work. If so, don't bother making films, content or anything else.

People see it, they don't like it and they see sloppy videos that you did not put a lot of effort into.

What is the point of spending $10,000 on equipment if you are not going to property stage your shots?

OK, it was just a YouTube video, not a motion picture.

But people are still watching it!

Isn't that the point?

Creating content that people enjoy. So be more conscious of what you are framing. Who cares about the rule of thirds if one third of the frame is a mess or items out of context.

Everything in the charters apartment should be relevant to that character. Don't assume that nobody is going to see the Omaha Steaks catalog on the vegan characters desk.

It is critical to stage your scenes carefully and not shoot items out of place or detract from your story.

Make sure you go over your shots, get foreign object out of frame and put your best foot forward, even though it is just a YouTube video.
