As corporations shop for a production company to create their social media presence they will commonly look at resumes from ivy league graduates, popular film schools and other highly trained professionals.

But what can a school teach you about making viral videos?

The answer is not much.

Creativity is not something that can be taught, it needs to be learned over a lifetime, literally through life experiences, interests and the environment that someone lives.

A true artist is not created with a Masters Degree, or in a classroom, true art is natural and is part of who the artist truly is, not what they were taught.

At Mr Dog Poop Studios, we do not look for people with fat resumes from fancy schools, but rather those people that were making videos as kids, having fun and wishing to be a movie maker some day.

Creativity and direction starts at a very young age.

Sure, anyone can wake up one day and decide they want to be a director and make amazing movies. They can even go to film school and cram their heads with a bunch of technical terms and organized spreadsheets of how to make content.

But the artists may not understand the lingo, may not know the difference between pan up and tilt up, or push in and zoom. Instead they just know it, not by name, but in their amazing whirling brain, they just see it and do it.

Those are the people we look for, the people we hire, the people on our team.

Creative talent that was not molded by the corporate machine, not influenced by structure or changed by a society that has a check list for everything.

As an advertiser, you need new ideas,  a unique thought process and unique points of view.

You can buy all the data you want, analyze the shit out of every inch, but it will never get you the impact that a true artist can bring to your brand.
